(Denver, CO) – In response to today’s Denver District Court ruling installing Eric Weissmann on the Second Congressional District Republican primary ballot, Eric Weissmann issued the following statement:
“We are thrilled with today’s ruling by the Court placing me on the primary ballot, and look forward to spirited primary and general elections.
Jared Polis and his Democratic Party minions tried to thwart the wishes of the 1,400 Republicans who want the opportunity to vote for me. This desperate ploy has clearly backfired.
By taking the unprecedented step of trying to interfere in the Colorado Republican Party’s primary election, Polis and the Democratic Party have exposed their doubts about Congressman Polis’ ability to hold this seat if I am the Republican candidate.
Polis fought the law and the law won. My message of creating a smaller Washington, D.C. that entrusts individuals and gets off the back of job creators is right for the Second Congressional District. Having failed in a court of law, Polis will now have to defend his bad votes, failed policies, and ethical shortcomings in the court of voter opinion.”
