Eric Weissmann released the following statement tonight regarding the results of the 2nd Congressional District primary:

"I would like to congratulate Kevin Lundberg on his victory tonight in the Republican primary for the Second Congressional District.  While this has been a hard fought contest, Kevin and I have maintained a friendly relationship throughout the process.  While we haven’t seen eye to eye on every issue, no one can question Kevin’s integrity and commitment to the Republican Party and the conservative cause.

"I urge all Republicans to unite behind Kevin in the days and weeks ahead so we can present the strongest possible challenge to liberal Jared Polis in the general election.  I will work to support Kevin – and our entire Republican ticket – throughout the fall campaign."

The NRA says Eric Weissmann is a pro-gun candidate, gives him an AQ rating on his support for pro-gun policies

Friday, June 22, 2012 | Comments (1)

Today Eric Weissmann, candidate for Congress in Colorado's 2nd Congressional District, released the following statement regarding his AQ rating from the NRA.

"The NRA is the gold standard when it comes to advocating the rights of gun owners in this country and I am proud to have them recognize me as a pro-gun candidate," said Weissmann. "Government has overextended its reach into our lives in every possible way. I am committed to advancing the cause of limited government in Washington including protecting our 2nd Amendment rights."

"I am not just pro-gun-rights -- I am pro-constitutional rights. I support the entire Bill of Rights. We cannot let Washington pick and choose which should be upheld."

In Case You Missed It: Jared Polis May Have Violated House Rules

Tuesday, June 19, 2012 | Comments (0)

The Colorado Media Trackers website is reporting that Jared Polis may have violated House rules by using official resources to promote an out-of-district event...

Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) may have violated House ethics rules last week when he used his official .gov website to broadcast the details of his visit to the High Park Fire Command Post, which is located outside of the congressional district Polis’ currently represents. Both the House ethics and administration committees have issued clear guidance prohibiting the use of official resources for out-of-district events. The recently completed decennial redistricting process added new territory to Polis’ district, but he will only represent the new areas if he is re-elected in November.

In Case You Missed It: Why Eric's Values Match 2nd District Voters'

Monday, June 18, 2012 | Comments (0)

Eric Weissmann says he is offering voters "values that match the district's" in The Daily Camera Sunday.

"I'm a businessman, with a track record of achievement," Weissmann said recently. That background positions him to be the best Republican candidate to unseat fellow Boulder entrepreneur Jared Polis, the incumbent Democratic congressman, in this year's general election, he said.

Does America Have 9 More Years to Wait for Reform?

Friday, June 15, 2012 | Comments (0)
By Kevin Lundberg's own admission, his nine years in office have produced little tangible benefit yet. A quote from his website: "In my nine years in the Colorado legislature I have had many opportunities to take the easy way out and leave the hard fight for someone else. That has never been my style. I have been tenaciously introducing bills year after year to go after the big issues, and my ideas are slowly taking root."

America is at an important crossroads and is in need of serious reform and decisive leadership on issues. America cannot afford to wait nine or more years for important reform ideas to "slowly take root."

Infographic: Which candidate?

Friday, June 15, 2012 | Comments (7)

The choice is clear for Republicans in the 2nd Congressional District. Nominate a businessman committed to reducing the size, scope and cost of government –or– a politician who has spent 14 years running or serving in public office talking about limiting government but doing nothing about it.

Below is an infographic that clearly lays out the differences between businessman Eric Weissmann and State Senator Kevin Lundberg.

Time to Cap and Cut

Thursday, June 14, 2012 | Comments (0)

$4 million – that's how much will be added to our national debt in the two minutes it takes to read this message. $3 billion is being added each day.

Federal spending is 25% of GDP and climbing. By comparison, in the post World War II era, federal spending has averaged only 20 percent of GDP. The predictable but devastating result of this over-spending is massive deficits and debt.  Debt has reached truly alarming levels.  Something must done quickly to cap federal spending and cut wasteful programs that serve the needs of politicians in Washington rather than the constituents they represent.

Weissmann Reports $59,624 Raised in Pre-Primary FEC Report

Thursday, June 14, 2012 | Comments (0)

(Boulder, CO) – Eric Weissmann, candidate for Congress in Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District, today announced a pre-primary fundraising haul of $59,624, bringing his total raised to date to $198,035.  Coloradans made up more than 90 percent of contributors in the most recent report.

"These figures demonstrate strong momentum for our campaign's message of reducing the size, scope and cost of the federal government," said Weissmann. "Colorado voters not only want a candidate whose focus is on promoting economic opportunity and reducing the size of government, they are looking for a candidate who can beat liberal Jared Polis and bring meaningful change to Washington.

"I am thankful to the many donors who have invested in this campaign," concluded Weissmann.

Misplaced Priorities

Tuesday, June 12, 2012 | Comments (0)

Government spending sets new records every year. Our nation's debt is growing by the trillions. Millions of Americans are without jobs, are underemployed, or are at risk of losing their jobs. The focus in Washington needs to be on getting our nation’s fiscal house in order. I have committed to do that and I am the only candidate running in the 2nd Congressional District who is prepared to do that on Day 1.
